Winners Named in IWCC Speech Contest




Council Bluffs, Iowa - The Fall 2009 Informative Speech Contest was held on November 17 in Fremont 150. This year�s event was sponsored by the Communication Club and the IWCC Alumni Association. Forty students entered the competition, with the top six earning awards. Below is a list of the six finalists, their informative speech topic, and prize amount.

1st place: Fadoua Hajjaji (cultural dialogue) $125
2nd place: Samantha Haugaard (history of Beebeetown) $100 Visa gift card
3rd place: Alexandra Ford (influential leadership) $75
4th place: Christine Allmon (seat belts) $50 Visa gift card
5th place: Kelsie Skow (drug addicted parents) $25 Visa gift card
6th place: Lisa Gray (baby sign language) $20

A special thanks go to the judges for this event: Dr. Gina Hart, Tori Christie, Sarah Hollowell, Elizabeth Duncan, Jamie Stech, George Lacey, Desirae Bachman, Bob Hladik, and Kate Donnelly.
